THOMASVILLE, N.C., September 19, 2017 – On Friday, Oct. 6, the Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation will host the first annual Jane Burt Williams Memorial Golf Classic at Colonial Country Club in Thomasville.

While the foundation has hosted a very popular annual golf tournament for more than 20 years, this year’s event will be the first under its new name, in honor of Jane Burt Williams, the late wife of Dr. David Robert Williams, Sr. Jane was well-known for her devotion to the Thomasville community through her community service.

“The foundation board is honored to recognize the life and work of Jane Burt Williams,” said Rick Parker, executive director of the Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation. “She was an extraordinary servant leader in our community.”

The tournament will begin at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start and all proceeds will go toward the new center to be located on the Thomasville Medical Center campus. The future facility will be dedicated to furthering health education and wellness in Davidson County and surrounding communities.
The event offers the challenge of playing 18 holes of Captain’s Choice-format golf on a course designed by architect Gene Hamm. Hamm carved the Colonial Country Club course layout through hardwood forests, preserving the natural beauty of the land.

Lunch, dinner and on-course snacks and beverages for the day will be provided. Registration for individual players is $100 and $400 for teams. To register or for more information, call 336-474-7957 or visit SupportNovantHealth.org/regional-foundations/Thomasville.
